Voices shape places. In this workshop, we will explore how meaningful community engagement can transform projects into people-driven successes. Hosted at Art Park Harrow, this session invites urban designers, local authorities, and developers to rethink traditional engagement strategies and explore new approaches, to build lasting relationships.

We will begin with an introduction from Meanwhile Space on the fundamentals of engagement—what it is and why it matters.

This will be followed by a short presentation from experts Make:Good. Make:Good will share insights from their work in Newham, where participatory approaches have up-skilled communities and supported local enterprise.

Then, we will put theory into practice. In a hands-on activity, attendees will work on a real-world project, applying different engagement methods to develop inclusive, impactful solutions. The session will conclude with a presentation and discussion of ideas.

Join us to discover how investing in people - not just capital - creates richer, more resilient places.
