We’re proud to have unveiled Fitz&Sits alongside The Fitzrovia Partnership. This new installation is set to transform the streetscape of the bustling Fitzrovia neighbourhood, inviting visitors to sit, talk, think and share in the nine new spaces dotted across the area.

As part of a four-year partnership between the London Festival of Architecture and The Fitzrovia Partnership, the installation was introduced to the area as part of 2025’s London Festival of Architecture under the theme of voices.

The competition, launched last year, set out to platform and share opportunities with emerging architects, designers, and artists, encouraging them to experiment with creative, sustainable solutions that respond to the local urban environment. The installation will now contribute towards the area’s streetscape and provide welcoming spaces for all workers, visitors and residents to the area.

Rosa Rogina, Director of LFA said, “We’re thrilled to see the Fitz and Sits benches now installed in Fitzrovia. This project is a brilliant example of how emerging designers can thoughtfully reimagine public spaces in sustainable and locally responsive ways. It’s inspiring to witness such a diverse range of creative approaches brought to life, transforming everyday moments of sitting into invitations to connect, reflect, and engage with the city differently. We’re proud to platform this new generation of designers who are not only imagining better public spaces, but also prototyping them in real time”.

Marcos Gold, Director of Policy and Place of The Fitzrovia Partnership said, “Fitz&Sits is a brilliant example of how public space can be shaped not just by policy, but by people. These installations aren’t just benches, they’re expressions of Fitzrovia’s character, created by a diverse group of emerging designers and made possible through the support of local sponsors who believe in the value of good design. Each piece responds to the feel of the neighbourhood and reflects something of the area’s identity, from its quiet corners to its busiest streets.

This project is the result of real collaboration between the London Festival of Architecture, The Fitzrovia Partnership, talented creatives, local businesses and the wider community. Together, we’re showing how placemaking can be imaginative, inclusive and rooted in place. It’s a reminder that even small interventions, when done thoughtfully, can help turn a street into somewhere that feels welcoming, personal and connected.”
