Join us on the longest day of the year for nature focused activities for all ages and a walk around the area we're hoping will be East London Waterworks Park in the future, a 14-acre site at the heart of a campaign to create a community-owned, biodiverse park with wild swimming ponds.
The day will be busy, with all invited to participate in nature focused activities and to take a walk around the proposed site for East London Waterworks Park. Along the way, discover a set of installations celebrating East London’s ecosystems, crafted from existing natural and recycled materials and co-created through workshops with the community.
This participatory event invites you to share stories and plant them as symbolic seeds that will shape the park’s future. Through co-design and inclusivity, we empower voices often unheard in urban design, fostering a lasting legacy where community and nature thrive together.
The Perimeter Walk will take place at 12 noon, 2pm and 4pm, guided by volunteers from East London Waterworks Park. Please meet either at our site on Nature's Throne 15 mins prior or at the Lee Valley Riding Centre bus stop (Stop N on the 55/56 route) at the start time. The installation will be freely accessible on the street throughout the duration of the event for visitors to explore at their own pace.

This is a community-owned project to create a community-owned park, and we want as many voices as possible contributing to the design. Read more about the park on our website: elwp.org.uk/Design.htm
Together we will come up with ideas how we can design spaces for plants, playing and making in our community-owned park.
Attendance is free for everyone and you don't need to have any design experience to take part, just an interest in shaping spaces for nature and community.
