In 2024 the UK government set the ambitious goal of building 1.5 million homes over the next five years. But where should these homes be built, and how do we strike the right balance between quantity and quality?
This year’s £25,000 Davidson Prize brought together voices from across the industry and beyond to tackle this challenge. Multidisciplinary teams were tasked with creating plans for a new community of at least 300 homes, exploring both the big picture of placemaking and the intimate details of homemaking.
Stretching from Tyneside to Isle of Wight, innovative designs and solutions range from building on railway lands to high street infills to new concepts for brownfield regeneration.
Be part of the excitement as we announce the winners of the 2025 Prize and the People’s Choice Prize (sponsored by Humanise) during a live ceremony at Making House Heatherwick Studio in King’s Cross. The longlist and finalist entries will also be showcased on the night.
