Join Part W for an interactive workshop exploring the everyday obstacles women face in the built environment.
As part of our ongoing #BuiltBarriers campaign—launched on International Women’s Day—we’ve been crowdsourcing real-world examples of design barriers that limit inclusion, from underlit public spaces to inaccessible facilities. Now, we’re inviting everyone—built environment professionals and allies of all genders—to help take the conversation further.
Led by Part W members and industry experts, this participatory workshop will spotlight the powerful stories and images submitted so far. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own printed submission: one photo, one barrier, one story—to share and discuss in small groups.
Together, we’ll unpack how seemingly small design decisions can have outsized impacts—and start to shape inclusive, actionable solutions.
At Part W, we define “woman” as anyone who identifies as one and affirm our full support for trans rights and gender-diverse experiences. This workshop welcomes people of all genders who care about equity in the built environment.
Whether you’re an architect, planner, policymaker, student, or simply passionate about inclusive design, this is your chance to be part of a movement for change. Help us turn visibility into action—towards a built environment that works for everyone.
