As part of the London Festival of Architecture and the 2025 UK/Poland Culture and Creative Season, Fleet Street Quarter proudly presents Whispers, an innovative sculptural installation by renowned Polish designer Oskar Zięta. This commission celebrates the enduring creative partnership between Poland and the UK, highlighting the fusion of art, technology and public engagement.
Set to be unveiled at Ludgate Hill, Whispers will come to life in this thrilling live event, allowing members of the public to witness the sculpture's inflation. This interactive moment embodies the spirit of cross-cultural collaboration, inviting audiences to experience cutting-edge design in real time.
The inflation will be followed by a talk "A Quiet Place in a Noisy City". Ben Russell, Curator of Mechanical Engineering at Science Museum and Oskar Zięta will discuss the inspiration and science behind Oskar’s work, from 12:00–13:00.
Zięta, celebrated for his pioneering FiDU (Freie Innendruck Umformung) technology, transforms flat metal sheets into lightweight, three-dimensional forms using internal air pressure. This process results in dynamic, organic structures that redefine contemporary design and engineering.
The installation is co-produced with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, the Polish Cultural Institute in London, Let’s Art Foundation, and On & On Designs, as part of the 2025 UK/Poland Culture and Creative Season, organised in collaboration with the British Council.
A rare opportunity to see design innovation in action, this event is a must for architecture, art, and engineering enthusiasts alike. Join us in celebrating this unique artistic partnership, where innovation, culture, and community come together in the heart of London.
