This walking tour will take in sites around Islington and Angel considering the cultural inheritance of the area which informed the development of the Glasshouse Urban Retreat – a hotel concept developed by Purcell with idle + wonder, and Customs Bureau for Islington’s Grade II Listed Business Design Centre, which opened in 1862 as the Royal Agricultural Hall.

The tour will bring together a collective of voices to imagine a different future, radically reinventing our relationship to food in the way the Victorians did before us.

It will touch on various themes including the industrial revolution - food production, futures and security - urban wellness and biophilia and will end at the BDC with a short presentation on the concept.

The walking tour will be led by Purcell, Historic Productions and Customs Bureau.
