This event is brought to you by Abodo and Russwood.
This event delves into timber’s emotional and sensory connection to nature and its significance for our wellbeing and the future. We will discuss timber sourcing, its role in the design process, and the impact timber selection has on the future of natural world.
If timber could talk, what stories would it share? The connection between trees in the forest, the soil and the wealth of biodiversity who call the forest home? How it travels through life, contributing so much to economic, social and environmental factors in this ever-evolving world? Or where it lands in service, a high performing material that draws people in; providing warmth and shelter, beauty and wellbeing to our families, teams and communities?
This panel session will give voice to the journey of timber, beginning with its origins and detailing how they are woven into the fabric of the design process. Sharing perspectives from architects, manufacturers, and forestry management, our panel will highlight the difference between species, including their unique role in the forest and profound impact on our emotional and physical wellness.
