Historic buildings are witnesses to the events that shape a community’s story and identity. They embody our collective past. The physical backdrop to our lives, they serve as anchors grounding us to our streets and neighbourhoods.
This event will look at London’s historic buildings and our attachment to them from different points of view aiming to shed light on how heritage architecture speaks to us and how it comes to life in the hands of those with an intimate connection to it. Questions discussed will include preservation-versus-conservation and how art historical and community value define attitudes towards the ways in which we protect our historic built environment.
