How can cities support more inclusive, connected, and intergenerational futures?
'Place at the Table: Voices Across Generations' is a participatory event that brings together city-makers, community leaders, and local residents of all ages to explore how neighbourhoods can be designed to support the wellbeing, connection, and social interaction for all ages within a community.
What
Place at the Table brings together curious minds and diverse voices to explore how can we design places where people of all ages feel at home—now and in the future. Over the course of two hours, eight teams will work around shared tables to creatively reimagine the future city using their shared experience and expertise. Each table will explore the same core question about intergenerational living and will use a playful toolkit and guided facilitation to shape their ideas.
Refreshments including grazing boards will be provided.
Why
In a world shaped by shifting needs, changing communities, and climate urgency, this event invites collective imagination around what truly intergenerational places could look and feel like.
This hands-on, collective exercise will encourage participants to think differently about the places we live, work, and grow, with the findings used to shape Brent Cross Town and future developments.
Where
The event is being hosted by IF Design Labs in collaboration with Brent Cross Town, on the rooftop terrace of the development’s Visitor Pavilion—overlooking one of London’s most ambitious regeneration projects.
All proceeds from ticket sales are being donated to Live Unlimited, a charity that provides opportunities and support to Barnet’s looked-after children and young care leavers, empowering them to live their best lives.
