Hosted by Tom Gray MCIAT, join us for an engaging and thought-provoking workshop that challenges conventional approaches to architectural design and champions inclusivity at every stage. The workshop is a hands-on, collaborative event that will bring together professionals, students, and thought leaders from across the built environment sector to explore how we can create truly inclusive spaces.
In addition to hearing first-hand accounts of lived experiences with inclusivity and accessibility from Fern Lulham, BBC Broadcaster, Audio Describer and Psychotherapist, attendees will gain insight into inclusive design in practice from Jenny McLaughlin, Inclusion Lead at Heathrow Airport. This session will encourage participants to engage in discussions, identify barriers in architectural design, and explore practical solutions to promote accessibility and inclusivity.
The workshop element led by Dr Poorang Piroozfar FCIAT will be a hands on session to engage in open discussions, identify design barriers faced by people with sight impairments, and develop practical strategies to create more inclusive spaces. There will be some small group work, wider discussion and sharing of ideas in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
This workshop is open to new professionals and students in architectural technology, architecture, urban planning, interior design, construction, and related fields. By bringing together different perspectives, we can drive meaningful change in the industry.
