Reuse is no longer a niche ambition; it is fast becoming the mainstream response to the climate emergency. Retaining, adapting, and reimagining existing structures is not only technically sensible, but morally and culturally necessary. From housing to high streets, the message is clear: our future lies in working with what we already have.

But what if we could hear from the buildings?

Society Building Fitzrovia open its doors on 26th June and invites you to listen to our ‘Building Voices’ podcast. Voiced by our cast of ‘Society Building Players’ you will hear from seven very different buildings, from a Victorian terrace to a Civic Arts Centre. Members involved will then be on hand to chat through the ideas in more detail!

Each building holds a history of intention, invention, occupation, and adaptation. What will they tell us? What have they endured, and what do they still hope to be? Perhaps by hearing their stories we might better understand the case for reuse?

Expect thought provoking, light-hearted fun that celebrates architectural heritage and the power of reuse.
