I’m Rah, and I’ll be taking you on an engaging walking tour through the streets of Brixton and Stockwell. As a local resident who has grown up in the area, this part of London is near and dear to my heart.
We’ll explore Brixton and Stockwell’s rich history and cultural diversity, investigating the correlation between transport and migration, and what this meant for the area. By looking at memorials, murals and public transport stations, we’ll reveal the communities and famous figures of the area. This will uncover the contributions of various cultures and faiths which are not yet famously known, presenting how Brixton and Stockwell have transformed over time.
Throughout the tour, I will also share my own personal experiences of homelessness, simultaneously providing a new perspective of the local area and challenging public perceptions of homelessness.
This tour is suitable for all and we welcome everyone, including being pet-friendly!
