Discover a different side to Battersea’s Nine Elms area on a walk led by Battersea poet and local history expert Hilaire.

Drawing on voices from the archives, the walk will highlight less well-known aspects of the area’s rich history and celebrate the local community’s resilience.

As we explore the area’s side streets, we will hear about the battle to save a children’s farm on a site now swallowed up by new buildings; stories of a former boozer where locals rubbed shoulders with rock stars; vivid first-hand accounts of heavy bombing during World War Two; and a sit-in by Asian women workers at a TV factory in the 1970s.

A number of reduced price £7 tickets are available for those on low incomes, bookable via Eventbrite. Free tickets for carers.
