Our libraries are windows into many different worlds and the stories and voices that come together in them reflect a diverse community, embodying the London Festival of Architecture theme of Voices.
Libraries are often sanctuaries for many different people offering information, warmth, a sense of community and belonging especially to those displaced. This makes them the perfect place to celebrate Refugee Week and 80 years of the Moomins ... a story which symbolises a displaced peoples search for a place to belong.
To reflect these voices in our community we will have artwork and book displays in many of our libraries through out June, including the quilts made as part of the CommUnity Quilt project and window art at Finchley Church End Library and Colindale Library. Visit Barnet.gov.uk/libraries for more details on what you can see and opening times of our libraries.
